Hydrilla tissue/tubers will be collected from three locations in targeted coves/creeks. Sample
ID example: Smith Creek, SMI-1, SMI-2, SMI-3. Coordinate with SePRO on sample dates,

Each of these sites corresponds to a detailed satellite overview provided in the following pages.
Criteria for selecting the sites included, (a) areas of successful previous treatment (b) areas of
high population that have severe weed infestation (c) treatment within each of the five (5)
surrounding counties as fairly apportioned as possible and (d) areas of public use and public
access, including public boat ramps, public swim areas and dry hydrants. The table below lists
each site and the associated acreage.

Estimated 2007 Lake Gaston Weed Control Council Budget
Professional Lake Management based estimates for budget income and expenses on the most current
information available from Lake Gaston Weed Control Council. Treatment site acreages and chemical
usage calculations were used to determine the cost of herbicide applications in addition to vegetations
surveys, monitoring, site assesments, Grass Carp, and various other line items indicated below.
Herbicide treatments are based on a three applications of granular and/or liquid herbicides to each of
the sites listed in this document. The sites and methods have been reviewed and approved by the
Lake Gaston Technical Advisory Committee.
